In Australia it has been estimated that overall giving will be down by more than 7% during 2020 and will have carry over impact on the 2021 year to be down by around 12%.
It is understandable in these times, that overall corporate giving has been impacted in line with falling profits. Many corporates have changed parts of their operations. Some will now have spare capacity for goods or services that could be utilised by the charitable and NGO sectors.
Giving via volunteering has also been impacted due to the isolation and closed boarder requirements. New models of volunteering are being explored globally, and some are even moving to online and tele platforms.
Many PAF’s are taking up the challenge, and are joining the COVID fight. They are able to respond quickly and take bold action. Many are taking a bring-forward of spending approach, and some are utilising their balance sheets, and importantly being proactive in their funding approaches.
